your progressive Jewish community in north London
Chavurah
[cha-vu-rah, khah-voo-rah, khah-voo-rohs…] a community of like-minded Jews who come together to share communal experiences. Crouch End Chavurah is a small but vibrant north London Jewish community, affiliated to Liberal Judaism.
What We Do
We are a community without a building. This means that rather than being defined by bricks and mortar, we are defined by our people, our shared values, and our presence in everyday spaces. This allows us to be rooted in the community that we are part of. We gather in homes, cafes, school halls and, when the weather is good enough, even parks!
There are Friday nights at home, High Holy Day services, a communal Seder, as well as family-friendly Chanukah and Purim parties.
Our Chavurah is not a place- it is us.
Yes, we are called the Crouch End Chavurah, but we are so much more than that. Our members come from across north London: from Barnet to Bethnal Green, from Mill Hill to Muswell Hill. We provide a warm and welcoming community for like-minded Jews.
How Do We Do Our Judaism?
We cherish Jewish heritage, but interpret Judaism in a modern, progressive way. Our community is fully inclusive, welcoming individuals, families where only one partner is Jewish, same sex couples and patrilineal Jews.
Whatever you are looking for from your local Jewish community, we think you’ll find us accepting, inclusive and relevant.
